FREE microchipping is up for grabs by elderly and unemployed pet owners in the Ribble Valley in a series of roadshows.

The microchips, which help detect lost or stolen animals, will be available to all other pet owners for £9.50.

The roadshows have been organised by the National Canine Defence League and will take place from 10am to 4pm at Whalley Arms car park, King Street, Whalley today, and Edisford Road car park, Clitheroe, tomorrow.

Dogs must be on a lead with a handler aged 18 or over, fully-vacinated and over 12 weeks old, and proof of pension or unemployed status is also required.
