A TEENAGER was still fighting for his life today after he lost control of a stolen motorcycle and crashed into a garden wall.
His pillion passenger, who fled the scene leaving his friend lying in the road, was also injured and is being treated in hospital.
The 16-year-old motorcyclist had been driving a stolen Honda motorbike along Wigan Road, Leigh, towards the Tamar Pub, at 11.30pm on Friday when the accident happened.
The bike crashed into a garden wall at the junction of Ashby Grove and the teenager suffered serious head and back injuries.
He is currently in the intensive care unit at Salford Hope Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
The passenger, who is also aged 16, turned up at Wigan Infirmary suffering from a head injury and was arrested.
He was given police bail so he could undergo treatment.
