A HAT-Trick from QPR midfielder, Richard Langley, ended Blackpool's play-off hopes in an entertaining game at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders could have taken the lead on 22 minutes when a fierce shot from Martin Bullock was cleared off the line by Langley but, on 35 minutes, they fell behind.

Mike Flynn was adjudged to have fouled Paul Furlong on the edge of the area and Langley stepped up to clip the ball over the wall, leaving Phil Barnes stranded.

Rangers appeared to have scored a second before the break when former Blackpool loan man, Danny Shittu, headed home from a corner, but that was chalked off after a linesman spotted a foul on the keeper.

The visitors again came close in a goalmouth scramble moments into the second half, but that descended into a scrap and Flynn was shown a yellow card, as was former Seasider, Clarke Carlisle.

Blackpool piled on the pressure, with Scott Taylor guilty of missing a golden chance, shooting straight at keeper, Chris Day, when clean through.

Langley showed the Seasiders striker how it should be done on 64 minutes, with a fine effort from the edge of the area.

That prompted Blackpool to re-organsied, with contract rebel, John Hills - booed by soem fans after turning down a new deal this week, withdrawn.

Youngster Jamie Burns and atthew Blinkhorn were thrown on, and combined to create another good chance on 77 minutes, with Blinkhorn inches away from coverting a fine cross by his fellow teenager.

Langley made it three with a bullet heaer from a Kevin McLeod cross and, in the third minute of injury time, Taylor's near post header provided some consolation for the despondent home fans in a crowd of more than 8,000.
