MUSIC fans hoping to feel the noise in 2003 could be disappointed as organisers are not planning a repeat performance.
Last year around 15,000 saw pop star Will Young and more than 20 other acts at the Feel The Noise Rock FM concert at Ewood Park.
In 2001, 25,000 gathered for the first party in the park and saw Atomic Kitten, S Club 7 and other chart toppers.
But Rock FM today said EMAP, which owns the radio station and several others, was reconsidering the format. A spokesman said: "It's quite possible it will not go ahead this year.
"It's a group initiative and different events are done each year. There might be a different format this year."
Previously the Feel The Noise tour has involved events in the towns and cities served by Rock FM's sister stations.
In Blackburn the event raised funds for the Help a Local Child charity for disadvantaged children in Lancashire.
Nothing has yet been finalised for this summer but EMAP bosses are discussing a number of smaller indoor events.
The Rock FM spokesman said: "At the moment they are looking at launching a smaller indoor event with a few artists and moving away from big outdoor events. The feeling is the format has been done now and it's a chance to do something else.
"Rock FM covers five core towns and each is equally important. If we don't bring one of these concerts to Blackburn we would look to do something because Blackburn is an important area.
"The outdoor concerts have been great but we could look to do smaller things, although nothing has been finalised ."
A decision is expected to be made in the next month or two.
