THE chairman of Cliviger Recreation and Community Association (CRaCA) tendered her resignation with immediate effect during the group's meeting at the Gordon Lennox pub on April 1.

There was a low turnout of members when Tracy Nicholson issued a letter. She said her decision was in part due to personal circumstances, but was also because of poor response to recent events by CRaCA members.

A further meeting is to be arranged as soon as possible to determine the future of the organisation and anyone who would like to help it to continue would be most welcome.

CLIVIGER Brownies played a major part in the February Church Parade at St John's. They chose the hymns, took the collection and really enjoyed being more involved in the service.

As part of their celebrations for Thinking Day, which encourages the girls to find out about Brownies in other countries, they have been exchanging postcards with other packs all over the world.

The cards are on display on their notice board in Church House.

THE Church, Home and School Association of Cliviger Primary School have donated £350 to church funds, and a further £100 has been raised from a trip to see Beauty and the Beast in Manchester. As the church needs a new boiler this year, all fund raising efforts are much appreciated.

INCLUDED in complaints being dealt with by Cliviger Parish Council are: road maintenance required between Southward Bottom and Bulls Head in Ree Lees Road; parking in Red Lees Road; poor drainage in various parts of the parish, and missing street signs.

SECURITY marking of vulnerable stone in the area has now been carried out and notices have been posted by local police to deter thieves.
