A BURNLEY-BASED computer firm has logged on to a hi-tech European business venture which could be worth up to £1million.
P3 Computers, a former sponsor of Burnley FC's shirts, has just clinched an initial £150,000 contract to supply hardware for Norwegian advertising specialists Unique Promotions.
And Paul Cumpstey, managing director at the Healeywood Road firm, hopes the deal could be the first of many.
"Unique Promotions delivers satellite advertising to big screens in public places like cinemas, sporting arenas and shopping centres," he said.
"They have proved very successful in Norway and are now looking to expand the idea across Europe and already there has been interest in Austria, Denmark Belgium, Switzerland as well as here in the UK."
Kris Olsson, director at Unique Promotions, based in Bergen, said: "Our efforts to find a technology partner involved enquiries throughout the UK and we were recommended to P3 Computers by a company in Manchester. We like the way they work and hope to develop a long-term trading relationship."
Mr Cumpstey added: "It took several weeks of hard negotiating to set up a deal after we were first approached by Unique Promotions. We are supplying hardware and the first order will see more than 100 of our computers shipped out within the next few weeks.
"The signs are very promising and it sounds like very good business. It certainly takes the name of P3 to new lands and the contract could eventually be worth up to £1million."
The deal marks another progressive move for P3 Computers which recently reported a four per cent increase in annual turnover. Business has quadrupled since the firm was formed seven years ago.
