TWO Blackburn pubs have "cleaned up" in a top culinary competition.
The Bonny Inn, in Ribchester Road, Salesbury, and the Grey Mare, in Belthorn, have each scooped the best-kept kitchen award of Daniel Thwaites Brewery after a contest involving pubs across the North West.
Bonny Inn licensees Bill and Gail Stopford and the Grey Mare's Ronnie Lampton raised a glass in celebration after being presented with a bottle of bubbly and framed certificate for their efforts.
Bill said: "This award will give further confidence to our growing customer-base as we look to strengthen our catering following a successful kitchen extension."
Ronnie said: "We pride ourselves on our standards, both in terms of quality of catering and kitchen cleanliness, and it is always nice when your efforts are recognised."
