I ALWAYS read Nature Watch with interest. Perhaps you could find space to draw attention to the dangers of wildlife posed by plastic rings for six packs used to distribute drinks?

Ron's reply: Eileen's letter refers mainly to hedgehogs and waterfowl but I am sure that other mammals and birds will also suffer from this form of litter.
The number and volume of dangerous items found littering the environment is increasing. Those who insist on open access should also remember that all of us need to remember the welfare of wildlife and also of farmers.
How would we like it if people hurled litter into our gardens or in the place where we work.
I travel abroad a lot but I still think that the British countryside is the most beautiful. We are, however, the most untidy country in Europe if not the world.
We have far too many litter louts!
