Despite not appearing in any movies for such a long time Juhi Chawla has lost little of her affection from admiring audiences.

She was always at her best starring in romantic comedies and it seems Bollywood has missed her glowing smile and ability to adapt. In Jhankaar Beats she plays happily married Shanti, a devoted wife who is seven months pregnant. Her husband Deep (Sanjay Suri) and best friend Rishi (Rahul Bose), who has recently separated from his wife, work as advertising executives. Both dream one day of becoming musicians and have entered a competition - Jhankaar Beats - year in year out. They never win but their passion for music never dies.

Life becomes even more complicated for the duo when they are told to sign up an important contract for their boss. Their boss (like most bosses) doesn't take no for an answer and is adamant they get the client or face being sacked.

Whilst most Bollywood love stories tend to drag out the relationships of one couple this one goes two better and tackles three. That of the married couple (Shanti and Deep), the bitter couple (Rishi and Nicky) and the wannabe couple (Neel and Preeti).

Jhankaar Beats doesn't throw up many surprises and at times yopu think you are watching a television sitcom. That spell is only broken when Juhi hits the screen.
