COLNE completed a North West Counties League Division Two double to dent Padiham's promotion hopes at Holt House last night.
Padiham created the early chances with both John Harrison and Carl Haworth flashing shots across the face of goal.
But as the half progressed, Colne began to get on top.
Kristian Evans and Gavin Cooper went close and on 25 minutes George Craddock, who had caused problems with his pace, opened the scoring. The Colne striker was put through, outpaced his marker and coolly slotted the ball home.
Chances came thick and fast at both ends in the second half. But it was Colne who were on target again, with Chris Ingham adding a second on 63 minutes but after 63 minutes Chris Ingham added a second for Colne with another quick break from midfield and clinical finish.
Ross Baxter produced two quality saves to deny Storks' striker Ian Pilkington, while Carl Haworth miscued from close range in Padiham's best spell.
Evans hit the woodwork for Colne in the closing stages before Gavin Cooper had his free kick saved.
