Manchester City striker, Shaun Goater, has given street crime the 'red card' by offering two free Premiership tickets to the most streetwise youngster in Greater Manchester.

By logging on to the new, interactive Operation Hawk website to be found at www.operationhawk.com, young people aged between 10-18 years old will get the chance to enter a simple competition to win the exclusive prize donated by the City marksman.

Famous personalities such as Manchester United's Philip Neville will also be giving away mystery prizes in each of the monthly competitions, to help educate pupils and students about the consequences of street crime.

Youngsters will also be able to make sure they are 'on the ball' when it comes to street crime thanks to helpful hints on how to get streetwise when shopping, hanging out with friends, pubbing or clubbing. Advice is also offered on where to seek help if anyone becomes a victim or witness of street crime.

Shaun Goater said: "I am pleased to support Operation Hawk in its aim to reduce street crime in Greater Manchester. Keeping safe on the streets is simple if you remember to keep all your valuables out of sight and stick with your mates".

Assistant Chief Constable Ian Seabridge, GMP's Community and Internal Affairs, said, "We are delighted that Shaun Goater is 'kicking-off' this exciting new website, which offers young community members the chance to learn about how to remain safe on the streets, whilst having fun trying to win the exclusive prizes donated by celebrities."

"Fighting street crime is Greater Manchester Police's top priority and together with the support of famous personalities, we aim to make a difference to the lives of everyone living in the county."
