Burnley parents of children with special educational needs were targeted by local organisations at an information and awareness day.
The 'Parents Need to Know ' day was held on Saturday, 29th March 2003 at Burnley Mechanics, Manchester Road, Burnley.
Representatives were on hand from at least 25 services, including Lancashire Education Authority and Social Services, local Health Authorities, Speech and Language Services, Connexions, and voluntary organisations including Lancashire Parent Partnership.
Sue Seabridge of Lancashire Parent Partnership said "We hope the day will have helped parents of children with special needs to find out what's available to support them. It's also a good opportunity for lots of different services to find out about each other.
The 'Parents Need to Know' day was completely free thanks to financial support from Network 81, using funding from the Community Fund, and Lancashire County Council.
