PUPILS and staff at an Astley school are on a real high after some remarkable results.
Following the publication of A level performance tables David Burnett, head of St Mary's Catholic High, said achievements were "truly remarkable and a cause for celebration".
Delighted Mr Burnett said: "St Mary's students' performance was significantly above the local average. This is even more remarkable as the school endeavours to serve the needs of all students looking to secure post-16 education.
Mixed academic profile
"Our students have quite a mixed academic profile. Some of our most able are among the highest performing in the country and others are focusing on vocational courses."
Mr Burnett believes these outstanding results are attributable to a number of factors, but in particular, quality teaching and effective learning. He was also delighted with the number of students who last year progressed from St Mary's to universities across the country and thanked staff, students and parents and families in achieving such a remarkable level of success.
