Barbara Rawlinson, 58, is one of 211 Marie Curie Nurses in the North West where she looks after people seriously ill with cancer in their own homes.
Barbara says she is delighted to have made it into the finals of the promotion which would give her the opportunity to become an ambassador for all her Marie Curie Nursing colleagues in England and spend 12 months promoting the work of the charity.
In mid April Barbara will join other finalists in London for a two day training and judging session, including media training to help her handle interviews should she go on to become Nurse of the Year. The Nurse of the Year will be announced in early May to coincide with International Nurses Day.
The award is sponsored by Clinton Cards and winners will receive a weekend break for two in London at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, £300 bursary, Toni & Guy, flowers and champagne.
