MOTORSPORT fanatic Deborah Greenwood is hoping to change the face of Formula One.
The mother-of-two from Burnley was the first to put her name forward for next year's Formula Woman - the first ever national motorsport series devoted entirely to female drivers.
And, now her application has been accepted, she is looking to pip the other 2,399 racers to finish first.
"It's a great opportunity to break into motorsport," said 35-year-old Deborah from Burnley.
Formula Woman is open to any female driver aged from 18 to 60 plus, who holds a UK driving licence.
The competition will be regionalised and whittled down to 16 drivers.
The new Championship has been conceived and created by Graeme Glew, a motorsport industry consultant who has been involved in racing team management, a racing driver school and most recently Formula One itself.
Deborah, who has two daughters - eight-year-old Hannah and Lauren, who is just 17 months, will join the rest of the racers in driving a Mazda RX8 in the Championship.
