WITH today's young heroes waging war on Iraq, Leigh people can relive the emotion of past conflicts at a special exhibition.

The major show "In The Mood" at the Trafford-based Imperial War Museum North will look at entertainment from the First World War to today.

The first big show since the opening last year it traces how song, dance, music, film and radio shapes lives in wartime.

It uses four themes radio and comedy, song and dance, stage and screen, each heralded by two real lives, both famous and non-famous.

The show will examine the contributions of entertainers including Vera Lynn, Zara Leander, Charlie Chaplin and Noel Coward, Jim Davidson, Geri Halliwell and Claire Sweeney.

Exhibits will include film and audio clips, scripts, designs, posters, diaries, costume, radios and gramophones and 78rpm records,

It runs until September 7 and entrance is free between 10am and 6pm.
