CONSUMER watchdogs are backing a national campaign alerting sunseekers to the dangers of joining bogus holiday clubs.
Trading standards chief for Wigan Council, Alan Blundell has warned that the clubs are not covered by timeshare laws which means there are no automatic cancellation rights for people who change their minds.
He said: "They use high pressure sales techniques such as long presentations to get customers to sign binding contracts.
"They promise once-in-a-lifetime deals and often tempt people with today only cash back deals."
