THE Fred Longworth Community Big Band will strike a chord with music lovers next month at an Atherton concert.
The band, which has been together for two years, will play its unique brand of jazz on May 2 at 7.30pm at Atherton Parish Church.
The 20-strong band is made up of Fred Longworth High students and local adults.
And the band plans to record the performance to produce a CD -- Live in the parish.
Band leader and Freddie's teacher Rick Asbury, who plays keyboard, said: "The band was formed to allow talented students and adults from the community the chance to meet and play and enhance their musical skills."
Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.
More band members are sought -- especially trombone players. Contact Rick on 01942 883796.
