A SEARCH is on for the oldest former employee of the Bury Transport Corporation to be VIP at a workers' reunion next month.
Manchester Museum of Transport wants anyone who worked on the town's trams and buses to get in touch ahead of the event on May 11.
Those who contact the museum in advance will receive free entry on the day, with special guest status awaiting the individual with the earliest start date.
The honour includes chauffeur-driven transport from home, a guided tour and a meeting with the mayor of Bury.
Museum chairman Dennis Talbot said: "It will be a very special day, full of memories and stories.
"We need a guest-of-honour to represent all those hard working employees over the years who made sure that workers and shoppers got where they needed to."
On display at the Boyle Street museum, Cheetham, will be the green and cream buses that were once a familiar sight across the borough. Free bus rides will be laid on, with members of the public also welcome.
