COUNCIL leader Stuart Caddy has been criticised for spending almost £15,000 on three council roadshows.
The events were held in Burnley and Padiham in a bid to improve communication between the council and residents.
But Councillor Peter Doyle said at a meeting of Burnley Council last night that the shows, which were attended by 300 people, cost the council tax payer £68 for every person seen.
Coun Doyle added: "This is a very high cost to see just a few people."
But Coun Caddy defended the roadshows, which he said had been his idea.
He told the council: "They have been a success and they will be going in to other areas of Burnley.
"They are a fantastic way of improving council communication."
