WALKERS will be getting on their knees for a fund-raising 'pub crawl' to raise cash for a new headquarters for Bowland and Pennine Mountain Rescue.
Blackburn brewers Daniel Thwaites has joined forces with the Long Distance Walkers Association (West Lancs Group) for the event on Saturday, September 13.
It is hoped hundreds of walkers will take part over two distances, 14 and 26 miles, and link up with 10 pubs in Wheelton, Tockholes, Abbey Village, Belmont and Heapey.
"We are delighted that Thwaites' Charitable Trust has come forward with a sponsorship donation which will enable us to provide a commemorative badge to all who take part in the walk," said Charles Thompson, of the LDWA's West Lancs Group.
Anyone wishing to do the walk should write to Mr Thompson at 642 Blackpool Road, Ashton, Preston PR2 1SE.
