BURY Thai Boxing gym, GFC Muay Thai, had three fighters in action at the weekend.
Fighting on the under card of a double world title fight bill in Oldham were Ste Dickinson, Andy Thrasher and Ken Quigg.
Dickinson was first up and, after a quick and explosive start, stopped his opponent in the first round.
Next was Bury's own Thrasher. Due to a mix up in the weights Andy's opponent had weighed in 4kg heavier -- a tremendous amount to give away in Thai boxing fight.
Andy took the fight anyway and, not wanting to be outdone, also stopped his opponent in the first round.
Last into the fray was 15-year-old Ken Quigg, also of Bury.
Ken had to settle for a hard fought points victory over the more experienced Mike Settle from Scarborough.
All three fighters are all hoping to take part in the next show, held in Bolton on Bank Holiday Monday, May5.
For now they continue training at the GFC gym, which is situated in Britannia Mill, in Cobden Street, Bury.
The gym not only caters for those who wish to compete but runs regular classes for all levels including women and junior only classes.
