A 30-YEAR-OLD Blackburn man was sent to prison for 60 days for what was described as a "co-ordinated shoplifting" offence.
John Anderson, of Taylor Close, pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of vodka from Morrisons.
The court heard that he was already on bail for offences of shoplifting and burglary.
Neil White, prosecuting, said another man had been seen removing the vodka from the spirits aisle and put them on a shelf alongside the breakfast cereals.
As he moved away, Anderson collected the spirits and then went to leave the shop without paying. Louise Voce, defending, said Anderson did not know the other man. "He saw what he was doing and spotted an opportunity. It was an impromptu action rather than part of a co-ordinated effort."
