This week, CHRISTINE AITKEN, shop and forecourt manager of Kitchen's Garage in Trafalgar Street, Burnley. shares some of her secrets.
HOME: In Barrowford. I remember playing out on long summer days and sitting in front of a coal fire watching black and white TV in winter.
JOB: At Barclays Bank, Nelson. I remember the huge wooden counter and no screens and having to learn to recognise the signature of every customer.
MEMORY: I fell when I was carrying a tower of ice cream tubs and I cut my eye, which needed stitches.
HOLIDAY: We went to Woolacombe in North Devon. We set off at six o' clock in the morning and didn't arrive until about 3 o'clock in the afternoon for tea. There were no motorways then!
DRIVING LESSON: I drove up and down the road from Salterforth to Barnoldswick with my dad and turned the car round as we got to each end.
CAR: I had a white Mini Clubman, which I bought when I worked at John Heyworth's Garage in Nelson. I thought it was the best car in the world.
HERO: My sister, who is four years older than me. I just wanted to follow her around. Of course, nothing could have been worse for her!
RECORD: Little White Bull by Tommy Steele.
BEST FRIEND: Alison Miller, who is still my best friend today, even though she lives in Essex now.
