ROVERS skipper Garry Flitcroft could be ready to sign a new contract with the club later this month.
Flitcroft held further contract talks with Rovers earlier this week and the 30-year-old midfielder believes the two parties are now close to striking a compromise deal.
"We met this week and things went well so hopefully something might get sorted out next week," said Flitcroft.
"John Williams said he'd like to get something sorted as quickly as possible so things are moving forward."
Flitcroft's current deal is due to expire next summer.
