THE former computer centre of Burnley Building Society is up for sale for £1.3million.
North West property consultant Fuller Peiser is acting as joint agent for the sale of Parkhill, in Padiham Road, Burnley, two miles west of the town centre.
Built in 1981, the single-storey building comprises more than 20,000 sq ft of space.
There is a large car park for 55 vehicles on a secure,12-acre site. The premises was purpose built in the early 1980s to house offices and computers.
During the early 1990s it was taken over by the National Provincial Building society.
When the National Provincial was bought out by Abbey National, it made it clear it had no long term plans for the site and the site became empty in January.
Burnley Building Society was formed in 1850, although work did not even start on its first headquarters in Parker Lane until 1927. That site is now used by Burnley Council where its planning and housing needs services are located.
Steve Spivey of Fuller Peiser said: "Parkhill has generated a lot of interest from local commercial sectors, because it can potentially accommodate a variety of commercial uses."
