A COUPLE from Burnley decided to raise money for charity on their wedding day by asking friends and relatives for donations instead of presents.
Yvonne and Tony MacMahon, of Westbourne Avenue, celebrated with their guests at the Alexander Hotel, where they raised £600.
They split the cash between the Mayor of Burnley's scanner appeal and the baby care unit at Burnley General Hospital. The couple were invited for tea with the mayor, Coun Gordon Birtwistle, when they presented him with the cheque.
