BEAVERS, Cubs and Scouts from St George's Mill Hill Scouts in Blackburn are celebrating a £3,300 grant to enable them to buy new camping equipment.
The Awards for All grant has been used to purchase 10 lightweight tents, camping stoves, tables, benches and a new mess tent.
The group plan to use the new equipment for the first time at their Edinburgh 2003 camp during Spring Bank Holiday.
Group Scout leader Denise Mason said the new equipment would help them to provide high-quality Scouting for the young people of Mill Hill.
"In a recent survey, the Scout Association found that camping was one of the main reasons why young people became Scouts and this grant will ensure we continue to provide outdoor activities that young people enjoy," added Denise.
