TWO people have appeared in court in connection with a dog attack which left a Burnley youngster in hospital with serious injuries.
Mandy Cox, 16, and Jaqueline Cox, 38, both of Penistone Street, Burnley appeared before Burnley Magistrates yesterday.
They were summoned to court after an incident on March 1 which left seven-year-old Sam Leverett needing surgery to injuries on his arms and legs.
Sam, of Broughton Street, was set upon by a pack of dogs while he walked to a nearby shop.
Mandy and Jaqueline Cox were reported for summons for owning a dog, or dogs and allowing it, or them to be out of control in a public place and causing injury to a person.
The case was adjourned for three weeks.
Ronnie Cox, also of Penistone Street, was not in court yesterday, but is expected to appear at a later date.
