CLIVIGER Recreation and Community Association held a special meeting last week to discuss the future of the organisation.
Following the resignation of the chairman, David Morgan agreed to take over the position for the time being, until someone willing to take it on a more permanent basis comes forward.
This will allow the events already in the planning stages for this year to go ahead. New members are urgently needed, anyone interested can contact David on 436669.
The next event will be a live music evening on the sportsfield at Mount Lane during the summer.
SERVICES at Mount Zion over Easter include a short one starting at 10.30am on Good Friday.
On Easter Sunday at 10.45am, family worship will be led by the young people and at 6pm there will be Easter Praise, with favourite hymns and readings.
LEAFLETS have now been produced for the Cliviger Challenge and these will be delivered to every household in the parish over the next few weeks.
The leaflet includes a declaration of interest form which can be returned to the parish council by anyone who would like to take an active part in the Challenge.
A good response from residents is needed, the more people involved the louder our voice with local, county and national government.
The formal launch of the Challenge will be on Saturday May 10, at the Village Hall, Holme, running from 11am to 3pm, everyone is invited.
A MUSICAL concert by Alexandra Jobling, whose great grandfather was organist of the parish, is to be held at St John's Church on Sunday May 11, at 6.15pm, with all proceeds going to the Organ Fund.
Also performing will be Janet Westmoreland and pupils of her music school. Tickets, priced at £2.50, including refreshments, are available from the church or any PCC member.
ON Sunday, at St John's Family Service, palm crosses were distributed to the congregation to mark Palm Sunday. A new trophy was presented to the Cub of the month by Rev Laycock and a cheque for £100 raised by the Cubs for church funds was received.
Parish Eucharist will take place as usual on Easter Sunday at 9.30am. There will be no service on Wednesday, 23 April.
