A PARK friends group attracted more than 130 people to an evening of local history at Darwen Library Theatre.
The audience was entertained with tales from Bold Venture Park's past, Lancashire dialect poetry from Jim Atherton and a glimpse of the friends' new logo.
The event raised £700 for the group, which will be spent on improving the Victorian park, possibly with new benches or more woodland plants.
The evening was also a launchpad for a new logo to make the friends group more recognisable, created for free by Ribchester-based Workhouse Creative marketing.
Friends' secretary Julie Manton said: "It was a wonderful evening and gave people a chance to get involved in our work.
"Hopefully the new logo will help make us more recognisable and we will certainly be planning more events including a stall at Darwen Gala."
