SCHOOLCHILDREN in Tockholes got involved with the traffic calming methods pioneered in their village.
More than 20 pupils from Tockholes Primary School took a closer look at the traffic passing through the village, together with the 18 speed bumps and seven chicanes.
Children carried out a similar survey in September and hope the latest results will show that traffic along the busy road has slowed down.
Linda Kennish, infant teacher at the school, said: "The children stood just past The Rock pub on the main road and noted down all the traffic that came past.
"We also estimated the speeds they might be doing and it's something they can really have fun with."
Two children recently had their road sign designs turned into the real thing, warning drivers to slow down through their village.
Mrs Kennish said: "It's important for the children to be involved because, at the end of the day, it is about making the road a safer place for them."
