RESIDENTS in Darwen say they are concerned after seeing workers drain an old mill lodge, which they claim provided a haven for frogs, into the street.
Householders around Almond Street contacted Blackburn with Darwen Council after workers were seen draining the lodge behind the former Belgrave Mills site into the gutter of the road.
Officials say the work did not need planning permission and the owner has done nothing wrong,.
The lodge has a separate owner to the mill itself and is believed to have been recently sold.
