CLITHEROE hope to heap more pressure on Prescot Cables at the top of the North West Counties League tonight.
Lee Sculpher takes his side to Fleetwood Town as they look to win their five remaining games to take the title.
If they achieve this and Cables fail to win their last two games, Clitheroe will pip the current leaders at the top of Division One.
And the Cables are starting to fray, losing 1-0 to Warrington Town on Saturday to give their rivals a faint hope of catching them.
Sculpher said: "It gives us that glimmer of hope but it's still in Prescot's hands.
"We need them to drop another point for us to take advantage of it so it's important we keep going until the end because you do get some strange results."
The Clitheroe boss was also relieved that the Manager of the Month hoodoo didn't strike when he was presented with the award last week.
On Saturday his team followed up the midweek win over Woodley Sports with a 5-0 thrashing of Glossop North End.
"When the award is given it's usually the dreaded curse but we've won both games since," said the manager.
"Hopefully we'll carry it on at Fleetwood as we have to win every game, a point is no good to us.
"It's going to be difficult there and we've had some good battles with them. There's no way they're just going to let us have the three points."
Sculpher is set to miss the game himself through injury, as will Lee Cryer, despite making a scoring return to the team against Glossop.
