LANCASHIRE Constabulary has won a top prize in the Commission for Racial Equality's annual Race in the Media Awards.
The force's police officer recruitment campaign landed the top award in the recruitment advertising section at a ceremony hosted by Jon Snow of Channel 4 News and Lisa Aziz of Sky News.
The campaign targeted ethnic minorities and according to judges 'it made a clear statement that would have appealed on emotional and factual levels'.
The constabulary's human resources director David Brindle said: "It's a fantastic achievement, particularly when you think of the competition we were up against including Sainsbury's.
"The campaign was aimed at attracting potential recruits from ethnic minority communities and it has been tremendously successful in achieving this."
The campaign was launched with the help of advertising consultants Jupiter Advertising.
