I AGREE with the idea (LET, March 27) of having permanent Christmas trees in Blackburn and other areas for that matter, if it means saving council tax. Also trees are a green focal point in the town centre.
It's a splendid idea and the overall saving is quite something. I must admit I had never realised the cost in putting up and the taking down of the trees at Christmas.
