LEIGH RMI boss Mark Patterson will ring the changes on Wednesday night as he hopes for a piece of silverware that could rescue RMI's season.

The Railwaymen have consistently improved after Lancashire Marsden Trophy wins over Flixton and Chorley and they will be hoping for a repeat performance against Kendal Town in Accrington to lift spirits ahead of the three-match survival bid.

Midfield powerhouse Mark Ford misses out with a back injury, while Gerry Harrison has family commitments and Keith Scott is rested.

That gives a chance for Neil Campbell to shine after a problematic period at the club since joining on loan from Scarborough.

"I''ve been disappointed with Neil so far", admitted Patterson. "But that's mainly because I know what he can do. His confidence has taken a beating lately and that's why he didn't play at the weekend.

"But he'll be playing in the cup final and hopefully that will kick-start him for the last three league matches."

Opponents Kendal Town might be in the Unibond First Division but they should not be under-estimated after the Railwaymen crashed out of this competition to lower league opposition in each of the last three seasons.

The Cumbrians will be followed by up to five coaches of supporters for the final at the Crown Ground, which will host Conference football itself for Accrington Stanley next term.

Ged Courtney keeps his place up front for RMI, with a place too for Guy Heffernan - the traillist brought to the club by Patterson shortly before the transfer deadline.
