BARCELONA defender Frank De Boer continues to talk up his chances of a move to Ewood.

Rovers boss Graeme Souness did make a tentative enquiry about the 33-year-old Dutch international recently via a third party.

But as I understand it, the Rovers boss is currently pursuing a number of other targets who he would prefer to bring in this summer.

De Boer, however, is still keen

on a move to England and he is currently weighing up what to do about his future.

"On the subject of next season, I understand that Blackburn in England want to know what I will do about my future and are eager for my answer," said De Boer on his icons.com website.

"I still have to talk to Barcelona to discover whether I will be playing at the Nou Camp next season and until this has been resolved, I cannot say to Blackburn or any other party what my plans are.

"It would be wrong to give anyone false hope. I can understand that Blackburn are eager for a reply but I cannot give them my decision yet.

"I am hoping to sit down with officials from Barcelona late next week after the Juventus match and discuss the future.

"If this meeting is not fruitful then I can begin to think about looking for a new club and I will say again that Blackburn is definitely an option that interests me.

"I do not mean to be difficult but it is impossible to give a response to Blackburn now when I myself do not know what will happen. This is football and I hope Mr Souness and Blackburn understand."
