CLITHEROE'S gallant push to pip Prescot for the North West Counties League title ran out of steam last night.
A draw at Fleetwood means they now have to win their four remaining games and hope Prescot don't win either of the two they have left.
Lee Cryer looked to have a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed and home skipper Neil Kennedy escaped with just a yellow card for a professional foul on Cryer as he raced clear.
Barrie Hart scored Clitheroe's goal on seven minutes after he was fouled just outside the box.
It was a night for set pieces as Fleetwood equalised with a direct free kick of their own on the half hour.
