I FEATURED in The Citizen on February 20 as I am taking part in the Round Britain Challenge yacht race.
Just to give readers an update. The training is now over and I have logged up just short of 1,100 miles on the 72ft yacht.
Last weekend I met and sailed with the rest of my race team and skipper on 'Logica' for the first time.
We will stay in port in Southampton preparing the boat until Saturday (April 19) when the race starts.
The race is estimated to take 14 days obviously depending upon the weather, the fastest recorded time is 10.5 days.
We sail around Ireland and the top of Scotland and back down the east coast to Southampton, a distance of around 1,800 miles. There is a party and presentation on May 4.
The web page roundbritainchallenge.com is now open to follow the race progress and is updated daily.
