KATIE Ingram has been selected for the England Under 20 fell running team, despite being two years below the age category.
She will be competing in the Home Countries International at Knockdhu in Northern Ireland on April 26 and she is anxious to make amends after being disappointed with her run last year.
The selection of the Chorley Harrier follows her second place in the English Fell Championship Rrace at the Wrekin last week when she and fellow Under 18 Karrie Hawitt finished ahead of all the Under 20 and all the senior competitors.
Katie, who is the reigning English Under 18 champion, finished ninth in the British College Cross Country Championships at Loughborough University the day before the Wrekin race, and her busy schedule continues this weekend.
She has reached the last 32 of the BBC's Born to Win, a nationwide search for sports talent, and the elimination process continues with another trip to Loughborough.
There she will undergo two days of testing after which eight boys and eight girls will be chosen to train in Austria.
