IT'S been a week of extremes if you're a travelling Preston fan. Firstly we visited the Withdean Stadium, the home of Brighton and Hove Albion.
How on earth have they managed to overcome any Health and Safety checks?
Or don't they have the same rules and regulations in East Sussex that clubs elsewhere have to adhere to.
It's great that Brighton fans no longer have to travel to Gillingham for home game but come on, is this ground fit for first division football? We think not.
The game itself was by no means a classic but a second half improvement by PNE saw off a rather poor Brighton side.
The big talking point of course was the sending off of Craig Brown. But amid chants of 'Free Craig Brown' he managed to watch the rest of the game through a cell-like fence at the back of the main stand.
We followed this with a celebratory night out and overnight stay in the West Sussex borough of Crawley. And a good night it was too!
On Tuesday we travelled to the Madejski Stadium, Reading, and there just couldn't be a greater contrast.
The Madejski is a superb stadium, one of the best new grounds in the country.
We have a terrible record at Reading, even going back to their old Elm Park days and this result only added to it.
We were really up against it following the early dismissal of Michael Jackson and when 'keeper David Lucas was red carded in the second half the contest was over.
The nine men left ran themselves into the ground and were given a standing ovation from the travelling fans at the end.
It's our big night on Saturday, the 'Hoppers club on Lightfoor Lane is almost a sell-out.
Craig Brown and his team will be there to see Lee Cartwright presented with his special award and also the Player of the Year award will be presented to ----------?? See you there.
