A BURGLAR who targeted car showrooms was trapped by DNA on a screwdriver discovered at one and a footprint at another.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Shane Anthony Richardson had broken into the Jaguar Meade garage in Whalley New Road, Blackburn, by removing a pane of glass from a door, He used the same method to gain entry to the Walker Farrimond garage at Wilpshire.
Richardson, 33, of Lawrence Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to both burglaries and was jailed for 10 months.
John Wood, prosecuting, said property worth £2,500 had been stolen from the Jaguar garage.
A screwdriver found under a workstation was tested and Richardson's DNA matched.
At Walker Farrimond a footprint was found on a piece of paper and when a search was made at Richardson's home a trainer with a matching tread was found.
