ROSEGROVE brother and sister, Marcus and Victoria-Lynn Orrell, who live on Dorset Street won the North West Ski Federation Schools' Championships at Pendle Ski Slope.

Headmaster of Lowerhouse Junior School, Mr Conti, was delighted when Marcus, who was skiing for his school, came first in the under-12 boys section.

The headmistress at Rosegrove Infants School, Mrs Angela Barker, who had given permission for Victoria-Lynn to ski for the school, was also delighted when she came first in the under-nines. Both are members of the Pendle Ski Club Race Team.

THE Greenbrook Methodist Church Junior Church Queen, Laura Palmer, will be holding a sponsored triathlon during the Easter holidays.

This will include a one-mile run, a one-mile swim and a one-mile cycle ride. This is one of her roles as queen. She is looking for sponsors for this event because all the money that she raises is for improving facilities for all ages.

THE Rosegrove Carnival is to be held on Sunday, May 4 at Sycamore Avenue, next to Gannow Baths. If anyone would like to book a charity stall to raise funds for their communities for groups etc., please telephone 01282 428954 or 411211, £5 per stall.
