CHILDREN at a holiday playscheme in Burnley next week will be helping to improve their local environment, as well as enjoying themselves.
The youngsters at Burnley Play Association's Easter holiday playscheme, at the Vanguard Community Centre, will be taking part in a green project where they will be planting all kinds of bulbs in large pots around the centre.
It will not only improve the look of the centre but will educate the children in gardening and environmental issues.
Katy Mills, play development co-ordinator, said: "Helping out on an environmental project is a great way to learn new skills and at the same time do something really worthwhile.
"I'm sure the children will learn a lot from the project as well as enjoy themselves getting stuck in to the mud and planting the bulbs."
Children will take part in the project on Wednesday, April 23, at the centre in Bevington Close.
