DARWEN and Rossendale MP Janet Anderson had an unusual visit from two of her constituents - who cycled from Darwen to the House of Commons to see her.
Malcolm Brown and Dave Worden, who have been friends for 14 years, took in the sights of central London part way through a cycle ride from Darwen Tower to the Eiffel Tower.
They hope to raise £10,000 for Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood as well as giving Dave, of the Meadows, Darwen, the chance to sample the delights of the French capital for his 40th birthday on April 21.
Dave and Malcolm, 42, from Baxenden, were hoping to arrive on French soil today, having completed about half of their 800-mile journey.
Dave said: "We've been very hot and have tired legs, but we're still going strong."
They were waved off from Darwen Tower by friends and family last Sunday and stopped in Tamworth, Oxford and London before heading to Dover for a ferry across the Channel.
Once in France, they expect to spend three more days cycling.
Throughout the journey the duo have been followed by a van of friends handing out supplies.
