DUNCAN Jeffrey is so keen on Elvis that he's arranged for his ashes to be spread at Graceland.

The Memphis-mad baker is joining forces with fellow fan John Mellor to launch their own appreciation society for the King of Rock and Roll.

Duncan, 45, who owns Sixsmith Bakers, Market Place, Edenfield, and John, 50, of Blackburn Road, Haslingden, set up the society to give fans the chance to get together and reminisce about the life of one of the world's greatest stars.

Duncan, who is a regular visitor to Graceland, said he was given permission to spread his brother Paul's ashes after he died 18 months ago from bowel cancer at just 51.

Elvis Presley Enterprises Inc. donated two stretch limos and it was opened for a private remembrance ceremony.

Duncan said: "Over the years we have made a lot of friends with the bands that play there and the management. We were allowed to spread Paul's ashes as it was one of his last wishes. Now I have permission for mine to be spread there as well."

Duncan who named his eldest daughter after Elvis' daughter, Lisa Marie, will be visiting Memphis again with his daughter Amy, 16, and sister Christine Bail.

Amy is a fan of the Demphsy band who play at Graceland. Duncan added: "It should be really good to go back out there and see everybody again. We try and go twice a year because we have made so many friends out there it just makes it all the better." After gathering a collection of more than 600 Elvis LPs and various memorabilia he is keen to share his experiences with other like minded fans.

A disco has been organised to take place at the Rostron Arms, Edenfield, on May 10 from 8.30pm. Admission is £2 for members and £3 for non-members to cover costs. Anybody interested in joining the society should contact Duncan on 01706 823270. He added: "Anybody interested in Elvis should come along to the disco. We are purists which means we don't like dressing up as Elvis but like to wear 50s clothing."
