SCHOOLS in the Leigh area are being encouraged by Leigh MP Andy Burnham to become involved in charity and the community by taking part in the Giving Nation Campaign.
The scheme Giving Nation aims to show kids between the ages of 11 and 16 the importance of charities.
Leigh schools can also take part in the "Giving Week" on the 23-27 June. Mr Burnham said: Our secondary school pupils already do a great deal to support good causes by volunteering their time and putting their efforts into fund-raising. Schools in the Leigh area can order their packs by calling 020 7401 4070.
