LEIGH pro-life campaigners are to form a silent chain of protest against abortion.
Supporters of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will link up for their annual roadside vigil on Saturday which this year marks the 35th anniversary of the implementation of the Abortion Act.
The placard carrying protesters will line Spinning Jenny Way between 11am and 1pm.
Anyone who wishes to join the protest is invited to go along.
Leigh SPUC organiser Lawrence Hawkins said: "Since 1968 nearly six million unborn children have been killed through registered abortion in Britain.
"This figure does not include abortions caused by birth control methods such as intra-uterine devices and morning after pills. Nor does it include the number of embryos destroyed or discarded during and after in vitro fertilisation."
