Silver Wedding

couple raise

cash for RMCH

A COUPLE who celebrated their Silver Wedding asked guests not to buy them presents but instead to donate money which gave the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital a £1000 boost.

John and Lorraine Fearick decided to use their anniversary to raise much needed cash for the Pendlebury children's hospital, when they held a party at Tyldesley Rugby Club.

The couple, from Whimbrel Road in Tyldesley have a 10-year-old son John, who suffers from a severe heart condition.

The money will be used by the hospital to buy two new heart monitors.

Lorraine said: "The hospital were surprised about the donation because they did not know what we were doing. We felt the hospital would benefit more than us getting silver presents."

The couple would also like to thank Dr R G Patel and all his staff for all they have done for their son, John.
